ABOUT US

Hela Rural Development Foundation (HRDF) was established in 2019 to help improve the quality of Education, Health, and Sports functions in Hela province.

The Foundation was established to help improve the quality of education, health, and sports functions in Hela province. Since 2019, we’ve supported more than 60 schools with library books, chairs, and tables, teachers learning materials, and assisted remote health centers as well with medical equipment. There has been a focus on the sports sector as well as jersey sets and other sporting equipment for remote village games in the province. The team delivers every quarter with the support of SANTOS and other stakeholders based in PNG and Brisbane Australia.

Why Hela Province?

Hela is one of Papua New Guinea’s newest provinces, founded in 2012 from three Southern Highlands districts. The pristine scenery and vivid Hela cultures will thrill you as you go from Tari’s capital. However, behind the beauty of this province, many schools require more learning materials. Therefore, Hela Rural Development Foundation (HRDF) helps improve the quality of Education, Health, and Sports functions.

HRDF considers itself a development partner dedicated to improving the lives of remote communities in Hela Province (Komo Margarima, Tari Pori & Koroba Kopiago).

Focused on the remote settings of Hela province, the team has successfully delivered two projects in the education space; donation of library books, Teachersreading materials with desks, chairs, tables, clocks, whiteboards, and others in the North Koroba area.
